Methods & limits
A shared hue relationship keeps random colors feeling like a set
Analogous colors sit close on the hue wheel; complementary colors span about 180° for clear contrast; triadic colors use roughly 120° intervals for a livelier balance.
The tool also varies saturation and lightness so five blocks do not merely slide around hue. Use the result to begin a mood board, not instead of checking real interface contrast.
Generate a base hue, add fixed angle offsets for the chosen relationship, then vary saturation and lightness within limits.
FAQ
Color palette generator · FAQ
Which relationship is easiest for beginners?
Analogous palettes stay unified most easily. Pick the darkest color for text and the lightest for a background.
Can I use it directly as a brand palette?
Use it as a start, then test screens, print, light and dark backgrounds, accessibility, and conflicts with existing brands.
Are colors AI-generated?
No. Results come from public, explainable HSL relationships and a random base hue.
